Dear Reader,
I am excited to inform you that you have been given the chance to read a copy of The The Zine. There are a few things you should be aware of before you undertake this task.

First we have some talented creators, please divert your attention to their work. Star has undertaken the reworking of a previous comic that has not been published. The new title for this is Skin Deep. If you have read the previously mentioned original work you should still take the time to read through the new version. It is also advisable that you take some time to peruse the front and back covers, which she also created.

Charles McGregor has provided several pages of his story Tribal for you to enjoy. Dedicated readers of The The Zine will be familiar with this action tale, but newer readers should still find joy in the work.

The reader should also be aware that we have stories from great writers. Mukey is finishing a recent chapter of Cold War and will be printing the next chapter in its entirety in the next issue. Zezee may be preparing for some rather permanent changes to her characters in Revenge Taken In Blood. Finishing out the issue is Larka’s Shadows Within The Soul where a mysterious fortress leads a band of heroes to a disturbing loss. The conclusions to these stories are as yet unknown, but their consumption is still a pleasurable way to pass the time.

Furthermore You understand and agree that your use of The The Zine is entirely at your own risk. The The Zine does not make any express or implied warranties. This shall include, but not be limited to, implied warranties fitness for a particular purpose, and warranties that access to or use of The The Zine will be uninterrupted or error-free or that defects in The The Zine will be corrected.

You understand and agree that The The Zine and any of its subsidiaries or affiliates shall in no event be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages. This shall include, but not be limited to damages for loss of profits, ridicule while reading, enlarged nostrils, throbbing blood vessels, nose bleeds, loss of goodwill, loss of information or other intangible loss arising out of the use of The The Zine, or information, or any permanent or temporary cessation of access to The The Zine, or the deletion or corruption of The The Zine, or the failure to store The The Zine in a place where it will not be mistaken for scratch paper and thrown in the recycle bin. The above limitation shall apply whether or not The The Zine has been advised of or should have been aware of the possibility of such damages. In jurisdictions where the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages is not allowed the liability of The The Zine is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

You expressly understand and agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the country, state, province or territory determined solely by The The Zine to resolve any legal matter arising from this agreement or related to your use of The The Zine. If the court of law having jurisdiction, rules that any provision of the agreement is invalid, then that provision will be removed from the Terms and the remaining Terms will continue to be valid.

You understand and agree that the above Terms constitute the entire general agreement between you and The The Zine. You may be subject to additional Terms and conditions when you use, purchase or access other services, affiliate services or third-party content or material or things totally unrelated to The The Zine.

The The Zine reserves the right to modify these Terms from time to time at our sole discretion and without any notice… so there. Changes to our Terms become effective on the date they are posted and your continued use of The The Zine after any changes to Terms will signify your agreement to be bound and gagged by them.

Another great issue with two excellent covers by Crayon. The front one is in color if you have a chance you should check it out online in all of it colorful glory.

A.I. leads the issue with the next part of Thicker Than Water as Ne’s family enters into lively dinner conversation as they try to tease out what happened to him.

Then ZeZee has an untitled poem accompanied by an untitled illustration. There is a lot of work in this issue by ZeZee. So much that it should be called the ZeZee issue. She also has a short comic Asylum Nightmares and the continuation of her story Revenge Taken In Blood. They are all great and I encourage you to spend some time with the work of this prolific creator.

Ryvirus is back in this issue with tree illustrations of a new character she is working on and if you get a chance check out her deviant art account there is some nice stuff up there.

Turtle is publishing her first pice Wind Song. It’s a great piece of poetry, calligraphy and illustration. It’s the perfect piece for The The Zine.

Mukey continues chapter Three of cold war and it’s a long one that we will be concluding in the next issue. There is a lot revieled in this installment and we are on the edge of learning about who the mysterious lady that seems to be haunting Zero really is.

Larka is bringing us the fourth chapter in her Shadow’s Within The Soul. Remember the shadow creatures from the last chapter? Well now we are going to learn what that was all about.

Concluding the issue is an illustration by Lil Usagi Riku of a cat. She seems very proud of it and you should let her know if you like it.

Well that’s what we have I hope that you enjoy the issue and if you want to get anything published in The The Zine you better hurry we only have two more issues left. Consult the publishing schedule on the facing page for deadlines.

It appears the creative push is coming on strong in the last 3rd of this year. We have some amazing work to show you including three powerhouse comic making talents and three great writers with epic works.
The second chapter of Tang’s Not My Prince is here. I told you in the last issue how smooth her work reads and how clean and professional it looks. Here she digs a little deeper into her plot reflecting our unspoken rules concerning the relationships between boys and girls and a little modern day exploration of the concept of slavery.
Robbert Griffen and Hanna Moreno team up for a short commentary on NASCAR racing.
A.I. is returning with a new story Thicker Than Water continuing to explore her love of classic narratives and character driven stories. What happens when a royal family is torn apart by greed and a thirst for power. The expressions in this section are wonderful and she uses them to great effect to help her mute protagonist communicate.
Take a short break with some portraits by Star and Nalee.
Then Suzu has allowed us to publish one of the many stories she has been working on and hiding away Your Scent For Eternal. It is a tale of vampires and dark angels depicted with a fluid layout structure and strong flowing lines. We are printing her original pencils at 100% of their original size so you can appreciate how tight and smooth her art is and how delicate it can be. I’d like to draw special attention to page 39, which is a favorite of many club members and it’s rumored that Suzu is fond of it herself.
Mukey is starting Chapter three of Cold War. We have yet to determine if we are going to publish this chapter in two parts or three. This continues to be a great story and I always look forward to editing it. Here she lets us learn a little more about the mysterious Tsukiko and we finally find out what happened to Zero and Koden after the last cliffhanger ending.
Mukey also closes the issue with our back cover drawn with an expectation towards a great summer.
Zezee is starting a great vampire tale Revenge Taken in Blood accompanied by illustrations she created herself. A very talented creator with her own style and approach to the world she also drew the cover for this issue. Her work is polished, but also shows a love for experimentation and a searching for new and surprising forms.
Larka is continuing Shadows Within the Soul where friends are reunited and gifts continue to emerge for our protagonists. There is darkness in this story and I have a feeling it is going to continue getting darker. Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha… ha… errr.
Ok enough of this! Are you here to read about me reading what you are about to read or are you hear to read it!?!

This is a very exciting issue of The The Zine and I will tell you all about it, but first I want to address an issue that has been heavy on the minds of Comic Club participants.
There seems to be a feeling that the club has failed this year. There is a concern that when compared to last year we are not as good as we used to be.
I don’t believe this. Comic Club has always been a struggle. Any creative endeavor is a struggle, but you do it because you love it. It gets into your blood and if you don’t pick up a brush, or a pen, you feel like you want to die. You want to make something and you want to communicate with other people. You want to leave a mark that says “I was here”.
I curated a museum art show about successful comic book artists in the state of Minnesota. Most of these artists make around $12,000 a year from their work. This is not very much money so they supplement their income with other jobs. People in their everyday lives look at them as failures, but they can’t help themselves and keep making the art.
The members of Comic Club are no different. As proof I want to direct your attention to the work you are looking at this very moment. The front cover by Yura and the back cover by Star are some of the cleanest and tightest work we have ever published. If you don’t believe me ask them to see the originals. Both of these covers follow in the footsteps of Charles McGregor’s cover for the last issue, which he colored himself on the computer for the online version.
Tang’s leading the issue by starting a new story called Not My Prince. It’s just the beginning, but I love what I’ve been reading. Tang’s work is always top notch and she pays close attention to detail. It’s a fun story, smoothly paced, and efficient to read. This piece shows an understanding for how comics communicate and it’s good enough to be worth showing to publishers, submitted for a publication grant, or used in her portfolio to apply to school.
I’ve been able to read several chapters ahead so I can tell you she’s dedicated to the story and there is a lot to look forward to!
Star didn’t just make the back cover for the issue she has several more pieces of artwork in the issue and a few illustrations for Larka’s story Shadow’s of Doubt. It’s emotionally rough being a senior, but she keeps up a good verneer.
Larka continues to work on Shadows of doubt even though she has been so sick in past weeks I was concerned for her health. She struggles to tell stories that are so much bigger in her mind than what she has time to commit to paper. In this issue Ven discovers new powers and a dark antagonist is revealed. There is a lot of fighting and deforestation.
Things are heating up in Mukey’s Cold War where we learn a great deal about the political circumstances of Nyx’s kingdom. You will feel like you are there as Nyx skillfully navigates fantastic politics and Zero explores a world of exotic characters. It’s impressive to see this kind of writing and I’m on edge waiting for the next part of the story.
For an artist it’s not the problems we face that define our success, but how we approach them.
You can see even though things are tough these artists have what it takes to continue producing work. Comic Club is supposed to be fun, but it is not always fun; there might be a behavioral issue, or an administrative problem, poor moral, or lack of access to basic building recourses, but even when things are that difficult they keep making the work they need to make and hope that someone will appreciate it.

We have a big issue with lots of comics, art, great stories and only one page to introduce it so lets get started!
The beautiful cover by Shadow marks a change in style for his work. It seems more confident and less heavily rendered. Time will tell if he chooses to keep with this new approach, but I for one like where he’s going.
Matabo created a gruesome back cover for us and also what looks like some Jhonen Vasquez fan art (page 4). I hope to see more of his original work in the future, but this will tide me over till then.
Star is all over this issue starting with several animal pictures (page 21, 22, 24); a new comic (page 26-29); and some illustrations for Larka’s story (page 41, 43). Where does she find the time to make all this great work and still get her homework done? Star, you are getting your homework done, right? STAR!!!
Zeeze created a nice little post punk character illustration (page 23). Who doesn’t like checkered belts and razor cut hairstyles? I’ve owned a few myself.
We have a variety of small one page comics. This issue features the first comics by Delante (page 30, 31); Wil McCloud is back with a one pager extolling the virtues of a free market and free speech (page 20); and another new contributor Jon explores some non-sequential slapstick violence (page 25).
A.I. continues the lives of Terra, Wrath and Vira in a new comic (page 32-35).
Konoha begins rehashing the Dragon’s Dream story in Zaj’s Dream (page 5-19). She has put a lot of work into polishing every page till it sparkles.
Mukey is back again with Cold War chapter 1 part 2 (page 36-39). We are sorry that we miss titled the initial installment in our last issue as World War. Hopefully no one is too confused. I strongly encourage everyone to go back and start reading this great story! It’s an exciting adventure tale with an extensive cast and great dialogue. The stuff I’ve seen for the next few issues is great!
Larka is back and breaking it up a little with a short story called Rebirth of a Legacy (page 40-42). For those following her longer work she says she will be returning to Shadow’s Within the Soul soon.
Well that’s it and I still have a few lines to spare! Until next time!

Salutations valued readers!

Thank you for taking the time to pick us up. Harding Comic Book Club has a great treat for you all today!

With a beautiful cover drawn by our long time comic artist A.I. we get hitched off with KAI’s heart touching poem “His Touch, His Protection, My Ruin” (1). Following after are Twigy’s poems “Lord of Life” and “Flame” (2).Next the amazing ZeZee gives us her drawing of “Gir”(3) – what a cuddly dog~ ^_^

Now, a new and exciting thing that everyone at Harding Comic Book Club would like to announce! Check out this fashion design on those girls! These were all drawn by none other than the amazing prodigy, Black Paradise! (4-5) Then we have Tangerine’s wonderful artwork following (6). With that the next to come is another amazing couple artwork with a school-love affair based on it (7).

An enchanting drawing by Ghost (8) opens a space for our final great artwork of this issue by Mukey (9).

Now, we enter the first part of Chapter 1 of Mukey’s story World War I (10-14), if you want to see how the characters look like then please look back on Mukey’s artwork on page 9.

What everyone has all been waiting for! Comics! Comics! And more Comics! Now, the Zine seems to have gone through a period of comic block! So everyone, please send in any comics/manga that you would like to submit!

Coming to save the day is S.L.K.N.! These guys sent in comics based on a “how-to” theme. The first is by their member LeafThoj titled “How-To Tham Hluas Nkauj” (15) or translated as “How to Court a Girl”—but wait, what’s why’s the girl outside?! Next up after LeafThoj is K one of the originators of S.L.K.N. with his “Kuv Paub Txog Koj Lub Qe Tas Lawm!” want to know what this weird Hmong title is about? Well then, why don’t you read to page 16 and find out this hilarious story? Afterwards, of course, best for last, we have originator of S.L.K.N. … none other than N with his “How-To Scare People” (17) comic to finish us of! Please enjoy!

Peace out!

LETTER FROM THE CLUB PRESIDENT

What’s up guys?
This is your bedridden president Star reporting for duty as usual. I’m sad to say that I am sick with pneumonia so some of my work may be put on hold for a little while. )= However, even if I am put on hold, the rest of our artists will go on, working hard to get their work published in the zine! In this issue we have great comics, great art work and a few great stories to boot! In fact it seems we have the same amount of stories we do comics! They’re catching up! However, we have very few poems. Please, come to comic club and show us your great poems! Anyways, enjoy this great new issue of the zine! This is president Star, hoping we see you next week!

Hey everyone! Welcome and thanks for continuing to read The The Zine, now in our FIFTH edition! (Applause) Many hopes are in our artists and we hope you, as readers will take the time to enjoy these fabulous artworks and comics. Hopefully one day as a reader you will come in and become a contributor to The The Zine yourself.

Starting The The Zine off are a few old and new names that everyone knows. The first issue of the fifth edition is kicked off by our beloved Kage, newcomer Curly Xiong, prodigical Tangerine, the enchanting Ryvirus, and our mastermind Suzu (formerly Cocoa). Following is a wonderful how-to by our lovable Squishy. CAUTION: ZOMBIE ALERT! (Pg 6)

Now, the wonderful return of A.I. has arrived. The long awaited but hilarious father-and-son-clash storyline has come to us as “Tsumi” the 2nd installment of “Sin”. And if you all haven’t known, here’s a Japanese lesson for you! Tsumi means “sin”, and thus the story of our favorite hero of Sin, Wrath and his friends return. This time it is his son Tera who will run the show! – Or maybe not. (Pg 7)

The long anticipated Tribal by our web wizard master Charles has finally come. Kira and her friends have finally reunited. Now there’s trouble brewing… (Pg 18)

The finishing art is by none other than our very own president Star, with a story the goes along with it! Enjoy the amazing prologue by Larka our writer who’ll steal your breath away! DON’T FORGEET TO CHEECK OUT THE EXTRAVAGENT COVER BY KAGE!!! Well, from the officers of The The Zine, please enjoy! ^^
