What is a Confirmed Member and how is this different than a Standard Member?
Confirmed Members are students, teachers, staff or anyone who has been confirmed as a physical participant in comic club. This status gives you extra access to the online calendar, user profiles, and the Confirmed Members sections of the forum.

How do I become a confirmed member?

Go see Andy in Comic Club Wednesdays after school and let him know your user name.

If there's no school, there's no Comic Book Club, right?

If there is no school comic club will not meet that day.
If we have any publications coming out that day they will still come out online, but the print version will not come out until the next meeting.

If I do decide to contribute anything, do I post them here or do I e-mail you scans?

Most submissions are supplied physically in person, but if you would like to submit something digitally we can do that as well. Since a submission's file size will be too large for the forum or an email attachment email the admin and ftp access will be set up for you.

Technical information:

The artwork is printed at 600 pixels per inch 4.75” by 7.25” (2850x4350 pixels).
Line art is usually converted to a bit mapped tif file using the 50% threshold method.
Tonal art is converted to a gray scale tif file.
Color work should be in rgb (since it will be viewed on the web).
If 600 pixels per inch at the final art size is too tight at least try to keep the work at 300 ppi or higher (1425x2175 pixels).
If you are having problems zipping or appending the file you can try saving it as a jpeg or gif at 2850 x 4350 pixels or 1425x2175 pixels.

How is a submission approved?
Artwork will need to be approved by the art director (Kage). If she really likes your work she may choose to make it one of the covers.
Stories are approved by the editors. With the current rules they will need to be sponsored by a chief editor (Konoha/Suzu/A.I.) or the club president.

This sounds scary, but please don’t be discouraged. I would estimate that 70% of submissions are accepted on the first try and 95% are accepted after some corrections are made. Almost everyone who has been published in The The Zine has had to make corrections to their submissions. In the cases of prolific authors like Konoha, AI, and Star they have chosen to remove, redraft, or add several pages to stories before they are published. I feel this always results in an improvement that the creator can be proud of.
