rework posts for searchability

There is a big project that someone could take on if they want to.

Currently if I do a search for an artist on hscclub.net it pulls up every publication that that artist is featured in it does not however pull up their artwork. This is because the site is organized so that every publication is treated as a tagged unit. The artwork featured in that issue can not be tagged and searched through.

The only solution I can imagine so far is to go through issue by issue and reorganize the posts within Wordpress so that each artists piece would become a post rather than part of a post. That way you could search for an artist or a series and see the work in it's entirety without having to search through different issues of The The Zine. Doing this would be a lot of work; I'm guessing 3-5 hours per issue. Maybe that's why I haven't been doing it this way to start with.

If anyone has some time and lots of access to a computer and the internet and they want to take a crack at this heinous job or if they have a better idea of how to do this let me know.

I would but I have no idea what you just said and I was reading it too!!!

That, and I now have a harsher demand of babysitting as school is ending.

Why not keep it the same way as it already is? Just have a post on top when they search that they only show up the the Zine, and when they click in one of the issues, have it where they can click the artist's name and it rolls down automatacally to where their's is.

Wordpress is the program that makes the site you see at http://www.hscclub.net

Wordpress is open source blogging software. This software has been improved over time and has become an easy to use and versatile tool for the production and management of websites. Today through plug-ins Wordpress can be made to do much more than just publish pretty looking blogs.

I originally started using Wordpress as a content management system (CMS) for the 3rd comic club web site. (you are actually using the 4th version of this site). A CMS is just software that makes it easier to post information to a website, format it, and manage that information. Technically the content and the appearance of the site are two different things making it easier for a designer to make changes to the look of the entire site without needing to change the content that people are retrieving from the site.

What I am discussing above is the task of making changes to the content on the site so that the site becomes more useful.

That is one of the best things about wordpress. It runs on a web server (with PHP and MYSQL installed) so as soon as it is installed on the server all you need to access it is a web browser. I do have a test version running on my own machine, but that takes a lot more work to set it up because first you need to set up and problem solve a web server for it to run on. This is a task that is much easier left to the pros at a hosting company like the ones that host this site.
